How much are we exposed to electromagnetic fields (EMF) ? How is our electromagnetic environment changing with the introduction of new wireless technologies, in particular 5G and beyond? Is there any impact on our health and the environment?
Leading experts in the field will also present the latest measurement procedures and equipment used to assess EMF exposure due to new technologies.
Major emphasis will be placed on the results of the recently completed EU research project Seawave and some other ongoing EU projects (ETAIN, GOLiAT, NextGEM) within European Research Cluster on EMF and Health (CLUE-H) that involves more than 70 European research organisations in four research consortia, with additional contribution from scientists in the USA, Korea and Japan. The results are expected to fill the knowledge gaps that exist regarding the impact of wireless technologies on health and the environment. They will be essential in ensuring a safe deployment and use of future wireless networks (5G and beyond) which will benefit citizens and society, for example in health, transport, e-government, smart cities and smart Industry 4.0.
The main purpose of the seminar is to provide an overview of the latest research on the impacts of 5G/6G wireless systems and other new technologies on the environment and health. In addition, special emphasis will be placed on certain specialist areas such as the analysis of EMF exposure due to the increasing use of drones in surveillance and military operations, electric vehicles and private wireless networks in the smart Industry 4.0.
